My Dad as a Boxer

He looks like a Box-Champion after a KO now.
Yesterday he fell down again. Fortunately he has nothing broken, the hospital checked him.
Now he will gets a hospital-bed at home, which is more comfortable for him to get in and out and hopefully he will not fell down anymore, because of the bed.
We’ll adding a emergency call-station for him at home, so that he can contact us, or the geriatric care, if he falls again.
We’re not with him in the morning and afternoon and the people from the geriatric care visit him 2 times in the morning and afternoon, ‘till my youngest sister or I come home.
Great for us, they are in the same street, opposite our flat. :-)
The funny thing was, as my sister and the hospital Doc where talking about his nose (it was swollen) and they thought it could be broken, he gripped his nose and pulled at it. Fortunately it wasn’t.
My Dad’s a real Hero when it comes to pain. *g*

Girls vs. Grown Women

Girls leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.

Grown women make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits in.

Girls want to control the man in their life.
Grown women know that if he’s truly hers, he doesn’t need controlling.

Girls check you for not calling them.
Grown women are too busy to realize you hadn’t.

Girls try to put a man ‘on lock’ by using sex.
Grown women know that it’s the sex of the mental kind that makes a man want to ‘lock’ you down.

Girls fake-moan, lay there and take the stabbing.
Grown women say, “Just stop”, get up, get dressed and walk it out.

Girls are afraid to be alone.
Grown women revel in it–using it as a time for personal growth.

Girls ignore the good guys.
Grown women ignore the bad guys.

Girls make you come.
Grown women make you come home.

Girls worry about not being pretty and/or good enough for their man.
Grown women know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

Girls try to monopolize all their man’s time (i.e. don’t want him hanging with his friends).
Grown women realize that a lil’ bit of space makes the ‘together time’ even more special and goes to kick it with her own friends!

Girls think a guy crying is weak.
Grown women offer their shoulder and a tissue.

Girls want to be spoiled and ‘tell’ their man so.
Grown women show him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate w/o fear of losing his manhood.

Girls get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.
Grown women know that that was just one man.

Girls fall in love, chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all signs.
Grown women know that sometimes the one you love, don’t always love you back and move on without bitterness.

Girls will read this and get an attitude.
Grown women will read this and pass it on to other grown women!!

What kind of monster am I?

You Are a Witch (or Warlock)

You are deviously brilliant and a perfect manipulator.

You somehow always end up getting what you want - without anyone knowing you're working behind the scenes.

Crafty and cunning, you can work your way out of any jam.

And it's easy for you to get people to do what you want, whether you're working for good or evil.

Your greatest power: Mind control

Your greatest weakness: Making people your puppets

You play well with: Ghosts

Gerdi from Scotland

I've made this for a swap on swap-bot:

This is Gerdi McDougal from Inverness in Scotland.
She has a picture from the Queen hanging on the wall. I know, this is a fauxpas, but I hadn't a proper scottish pic.

The swap's called "Adopt a Critter Matchbox Swap!"

I want a car!

As I was 18, I had no desire to drive a car and so I made my driving licence not before I was 26 (Normally, here in Germany, you can make it at the age of 18).
I drove my Dad’s car (Ford Escort – station wagon) after I got the licence and I loved it (except the fact, that I’m a totally failure when it comes to parking!).
Now my youngest sister drives his car, because I don’t needed it anymore. Here in Cologne you can manage almost all by using the underground.
But more and more, I think it’s better to have a car of my own. Whether it’s for doing groceries, visiting friends, fetching sweetie from her late shift, or even to drive to my Dad.
So now I’m saving money to buy my first car. :-)

It don’t have to be new, but there are a few things, that are necessary:

- no station wagon, because of parking!
- gear shift
- It must be a Ford (maybe a Fiesta)
- It must be in good condition, I don’t want to spend money for reparations every month
- servo steering!!!
- catalytic converter of course
- it must drive with petrol not diesel

I can tell you, it’s exciting and I’ll be very proud, when I’ll get my first car!

Friends will be friends?

Over the years I’ve met some wonderful and interesting people. Some of them became close friends, some of them acquaintance. Close friends became acquaintance and then left my life.
Mostly I’ve left them, because I’ve changed and it didn’t fit anymore.
There are some friends, I only see once in a year and I’m closer to them, then to other friends I meet more often. Some friends are great listener, some friends are great to have fun with. Some friends are relatives, some friends are colleagues, some friends I’ve met through the www.
I can honestly say, I’ve learned a great deal from all of them and I loved them as friends.
Even the people who aren’t now in my life anymore.
I respect them and wish them peace and I’m grateful that they’ve went a part with me in my life!
To my other friends: I love you still!

Lu Ping and etsy (again)

My dear friend Lu had finally opened an etsy-shop. :-)

She is honestly, and with that saying it's not only because she is a very good friend, but a very good and talented painter!
I love and adore her work and can proudly say that I own a few of her Originals!

Her artwork is on her homepage (click in my linklist: The Artangel) and now some things can be bought in her shop too.
So take a look and have fun!

Check her blog for updates too.

David Thewlis and books

3 days --> no work! *ggg*

Because of Carnival here in Cologne. I'm not keen on it, but I don't have to celebrate it and so it's fine for me to get some extra days without work.

I have some new reading stuff and therefore I'm a little overhelmed with the choice, what to read first:

- Michael J. Fox - Lucky man

I'm actually reading it, because my Dad suffers from Parkinson too and I'm curious to learn something more about this. I also like Michael J. Fox. :-)

- David Thewlis - The late Hector Kipling

One of our (Sweetie's and my) favourite actors. It's his first and only book at the moment and so I'm curious about that too.

And last but not least, the new book from Sophie Kinsella: "Remember me?"
That will be delivered tomorrow.
Aaaaaaaaa, I can't wait to read that one too.

*big sigh*
